This guide was developed as an aid for patient education to provide unbiased Drug Information to patients and public. Public access to sources of impartial drug information is particularly important in view of increasing consumer participation in health care delivery. Patient education promotes healthy living, prevents or minimizes disease Increases adherence to treatment and improves health outcomes. Patient education is a continuous process throughout treatment. It is important to emphasize different health education messages at different times during treatment. At each encounter with the patient, the healthcare worker can choose some appropriate messages to teach or reinforce.
